[edit] Thomas Antill/Tom Wills
Thank you for correcting me with regard to this - I knew I remembered Tom Wills' name from somewhere, but I didn't realize it was that Tom Wills.
All the best. Bobo. 04:39, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Henry Lette
I'm certain I've written about the right guy here.
- Henry Lette (this guy) (christened 10th August 1829, Curramore, Tasmania, Australia; died 15th August 1892, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia)
- Henry Allison (this guy) (born July 14, 1828, Campbell Town, Tasmania; died May 12, 1881, Coupville Island)
If I've gone wrong somewhere, please correct me. Bobo. 09:26, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
On User talk:Bobo192, Jevansen said:
The article on Henry Lette had Henry Allison's infobox and the category said he was a Victorian cricketer, although he only played FC cricket with Tasmania. I've made the required changes but you might just want to make sure I've fixed it correctly. The infobox was already there before you made your contributions to the article so it seems that was User:Robert Fleming's error.
The perils of working on more than one article at once. I need some time to check 'em both over, but I'll get there. Thanks for pinging me back. Bobo. 09:48, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Gwilt and AFL player categories
I liked this! Seriously, my thoughts on CfD have been expressed (again) at WP:AWNB. Pure pedantry and stupidity. If you take this decision to DRV expect major hostility from the regs at CfD. If your argument is that the closing admin misread consensus, then DRV is the place to go; I would recommend asking for "overturn and relist". If you feel that there likely was consensus for the move, even if the consensus was ill-informed, perhaps just relisting yourself at CfD and putting the best argument you can may be a better option. I don't understand what you mean by this edit. Guettarda (talk) 02:43, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Northern Tasmanian Football Association (1886 - 1986) article
A big thanks for the article. It was on my to-do list to help get rid of red links on Laurie Nash but you have done a better job than I ever could have. I am on o/s holidays at the moment but when I get back to Oz I hope to polish the Nash barticle up to GA status. Cheers --Roisterer (talk) 12:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] AFL infobox
Hi there,
I've changed the 'birth place' to optional now too - thanks for pointing out the issue there. The asterix was removed too - thanks for catching that too. Cheers Boomtish (talk) 14:14, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] GAA Names
Re your question on gnevin's talk page here's a few of the answers;
Noel Roche, Tommy Dwyer, Sean Walsh, Richie Connor, John Costello, Liam Hayes, Peter Mc Ginnity, Micky Martin and Plunkett Donaghy.
Don't know who F Mc Mahon is. Sorry. Heshs Umpire (talk) 16:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] STJFL
It's notable because it is the first and only grand final result to be affected by the Sirengate ruling. The fact that it was juniors is irrelevant. I need to view the Mercury microfilm to get a page number because the story is no longer online. And that entails a visit to the State Library. The same applies to the Herald Sun. I'm putting it back and it stays. AFL-Cool 12:29, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- I will consider removal at this point vandalism. I have added a note on the article's talk page and the discussion should continue there. AFL-Cool 12:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Dates
Hi, I noticed that you linked a date or two when you created Tommy Downs. This practice is now deprecated. Please see WP:LINKING and WP:MOSNUM. I'm happy to respond to any inquiries you may have about the matter. Ohconfucius (talk) 08:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Dane Swan
Hi, I saw your "edit" on Dane Swan speaking about Greg Williams 53 touches. When Williams had 53 touches the quarters were still 25 min (now 20 min) but is still a record. Do you think we should put something like: Dane Swan has the record for most possession since the quarters were changed to 20 min, the rule being changed in 1994. The AFL record is 53 by Greg Williams when the quarters were at the time still 25 min.
I found out there also two higher records set by other players (apart from Greg Williams), the first player is Tony Shaw with 50 disposals in 1991 (quarters still 25 min) and Stephen Malaxos equalling Dane Swan with 48 in 1987. Here is the website I found the states on http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/playershi.html . --Bouklyloo (talk) 09:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Don't ask me why but that website is considered an unreliable source. Aaroncrick(Tassie Boy talk) 11:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Jevansen - please discuss before an edit of Dermott Brereton
I notice that you undid my change to the Dermott Brereton article. I expected to be queried on my claim, however from my perspective my family history is being innacurately portrayed and I'm entitled to fix it. I have a much greater personal stake in my family's history than your superficial familiarity merely through a celebrity relative and a wildly innacurate newspaper article. If you'd like to see a more accurate article on Dermott's family history - try this http://www.brereton.org/Dermott-Brereton.htm. You'll note that Dermott's grandfather is infact Joseph Brereton not "Dermott Brereton" as the Age article claims. I haven't got a user account at the moment, but it makes my comments no less valid. - Sheesh. Now I remember why I never argue with IPs. Personal attacks, ignoring policy and what's the point of warning Mr 3 IPs so far. Given his knowledge of wikilawyering & sockpuppets, I wonder how many times he's been banned before? Oh, that's right I'm meant to AGF to all. Pity IPs don't seem to do the same. [edit] Cornes family
Just to confirm. Is "Studley" a legit middle name? I always presumed it was a joke...and that his colleagues were joking about "A sexually attractive male; also a lover in great demand" YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 06:11, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Test Umpires
Thanks for the heads up. I used to get annoyed when people nominated cricketers/test players/test umpires etc for deletion. Now I just sit back and enjoy the (brief) show. Nick mallory (talk) 14:02, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ian McDonald
Brother of Colin. Are you going to do an article on him soon. He later became an admin and team doctor IIRC YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) paid editing=POV 03:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Joel Selwood
Hey there,
In regards to your query, I can't say I know the exact answer. But I wouldn't be surprised if the sourced article was referring to the AFL era, so perhaps we may have to change the statement. Boomtish (talk) 10:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] re: Sonny Bill Williams
Glad to help. If you run across that sort of problem again, the best source I've found is the Rugby League Project. And if you can't remember that, from now on you'll be able to get to RLP through Sonny Bill's infobox. Cheers, Rugbyhelp (talk) 14:36, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Worcestershire County Cricket League
Hi Jevansen! An article you have been involved with has been tagged by a parent project as needing possible attention to some details. If you can help with these issues please see Talk:Worcestershire County Cricket League, and leave any comments there.--Kudpung (talk) 07:22, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] re: terry wallace
The fact that i have stated about terry wallace's voice compared to those of toby quirk-meeks is nor vandalism but pure fact. Celeron13 (talk) 04:13, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
To correct you, the name is Toby Quirk-meeks not Toby Quirk. Toby is notable as he and Terry Wallace share such similar-sounding vocal cords. You may not be familier with Toby Quirk-meeks but it's not to say that he is not notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Celeron13 (talk • contribs) 04:45, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
