From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am a Wikipedian living in Berlin and near Warsaw, born in Newcastle upon Tyne. Between these three points I have also lived for a month or more in Alberta, Manitoba, Nebraska, Tennessee, Vitsebsk, Słubice, Kraków, Rostov on Don, Düsseldorf, Moscow, Birmingham, Chicago, Hong Kong, New Mexico, Frankfurt (Oder), and Annapolis.
I do not like onions at all, hence my username ProhibitOnions. As a vegetarian, this can sometimes make things difficult.
I have been using Wikipedia since it started (and seemed to be little more than an online edition of the 1904 Encyclopaedia Britannica), editing occasionally as an anon, and registered in 2004. Some of the edits I'm happiest with are those that improved the standard of an article and helped end bickering over it; however, thanks to revert wars, Wikipedia is currently next to useless on many topics involving countries and religious beliefs that do not enjoy a long tradition of dispassionate discussion. I think I did a good job adding NPOV to others, but when it comes to such "controversial" topics, it's an uphill battle. In other cases, I've been able to put the vast store of trivia occupying my brain to some use.
Now that I have succumbed to the easy shorthand of userboxes, you can instantly understand everything there is to know about me, just by reviewing the table to the right.
If you're interested in a signature like mine (i.e., ProhibitOnions), please ask NikoSilver, who created mine in his signature shop.
Three articles that I think were unfairly deleted are now located in userspace at List of films with similar themes and release dates, Historical anomalies in Blackadder, and List of musicians with multiple self-titled albums. Feel free to keep editing them.
Archival fun: One, two, and three.
As my son is presently undergoing treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma, I presently have relatively little time to contribute to Wikipedia.
