[edit] Re-creation

I have created a proposal for this template recreation - available here User:Kozuch/Web browsers. It is mostly rewritten the List of web browsers, but there are still few sections to add. I think it is nice to have a template that covers all web-browser articles on all pages because of easier navigation. I have no idea how the deleted template looked like though.--Kozuch (talk) 15:58, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Netscape

should we really keep netscape in the list, since the "project" / browser is dead? mabdul 0=* 18:01, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

The template seems to contain browsers both past and current. Netscape's not the only one; there's also NetCaptor and the older IEs. I suppose it wouldn't make any sense to remove Netscape by itself. Maybe, if you'd like, we could somehow differentiate between live and dead browsers in the template? -Clueless (talk) 23:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
that sounds better: a new group that contains disconntinued browser. maybe i will doing this in the afternoon mabdul 0=* 11:03, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Or perhaps we could format the dead ones differently (italics or non-bold, perhaps?) so that they still remain categorized by their rendering engine (i.e., Trident or Mozilla or others)? Do you think that info's useful enough to keep? -Clueless (talk) 17:19, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
that sounds better. but no matter how we made this: we should del them, mark as discontinued or extra group or something els, because so it is too unclear. we could also del the internet suits out of this template since i made a new template extra for them. at that time i expand the internet suites article! mabdul 0=* 17:26, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Speaking of Netscape, the box now lists "Netscape 6 to 9" in the Gecko category and "Netscape 8" in the category above it... RobertM525 (talk) 19:12, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Related articles

What about to put "(list, list for Unix, comparison, history, usage share, timeline)" from the title down to section "Related articles". The title is a bit crowded now.--Kozuch (talk) 19:08, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

mmh, maybe creating a new group! mabdul 0=* 19:52, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lunascape (web browser)

The Lunascape (web browser) actively allows users to switch between three rendering engines (Webkit, Gecko & Trident). Not sure where it might belong on this template?—IncidentFlux [ TalkBack | Contributions ] 20:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

put in every section ;) mabdul 0=* 19:52, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
MB better create new section, eg multi-engine browsers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.181.206.59 (talk) 09:20, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Redesign again

maybe we should made a redeasign and rm the disconntinued browsers/made an extra template for them. and we have too many template!

  • gopher
  • internet suites
  • web browsers
  • mac os x web browsers
  • early web browsers

maybe we should change the system to disconntiued / active and mac mabdul 0=* 19:52, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] browser in which category?

EGBrowser, KidZui, Zac Browser

also adding a offline-browser (maybe as a new group?!?) in example: WebCopier mabdul 0=* 00:55, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] 3DMLW?

I don't see it mentioned anywhere on the W3C website. I'm removing it from the template. --Toussaint (talk) 19:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
