I wonder why Louisiana has parishes while all the other states have counties. Does anybody know? --Pee Wee 17:57, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's because of Louisiana's high Roman Catholic Population. Louisiana used to have counties, but these were changed over to parishes shortly after statehood. Sf46 (talk) 00:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
