[edit] Combatants

How about mentioning right away in the lead paragraph that Austro-Hungary was also a participant in this battle? The fact is mentioned in the infobox, and later in the text, but the role of those troops seems to have been significant enough to rate a more prominent mention. While at it, it would be good to have the relative strenghts of the opposing armies included in the infobox. Can the info be found? Turgidson 16:03, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

The austro-hungarian divisions were disposed on the left flank of Gerok task force. The "target" of Romanian army was to encircle and destroy the German 9th Army because in this way Gen. Mackensen would be forced to move a part of his forces from the Namoloasa front. The austro-hungarian divisions were badly hit in the first 3 days of offensive and they were forced to retreat and in consequence, Gen. Mackensen replaced them with some german forces. In this offensive austo-hungarian forces didn't had a significant role. You may see that also in the following battles on the romanian front.
Unfortunately, the article isn't completely translated. The main part "The battle" is missing. You can see it on the romanian page. --Cristi Pitulice 15:59, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanations. I'm looking forward to the expansion of this article -- I think it's a worthwhile endeavor. Turgidson 16:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
