Princess Sophie/Sophia (Sofia) of Romania was born on 29 October 1957 in Tatoi, Greece, and is the fourth daughter of King Michael I of Romania and Queen Anne. Sophie is eighth in the line of succession to the headship of the Romanian Royal Family, and is in the line of succession to the British Throne.
In Neuilly on 29 August 1998 she married Alain Michel Léonce Biarneix (b. Nancy, 10 July 1957). The couple divorced in 2002. They have one daughter:
