Pedro Alexandre dos Santos Barbosa (born August 6, 1970 in Gondomar; Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpedɾu bɐɾˈbɔzɐ]) is a former Portuguese professional footballer, best known for his spell at Sporting Clube de Portugal.
An attacking midfielder with above-average technical skills, Barbosa first came to prominence playing for Vitória de Guimarães, joining Sporting Clube de Portugal in 1995–96, where he spent ten seasons. He contributed heavily to the capital side's 2000 and 2002 league titles.
After retiring, he became Sporting's football director. Barbosa won 22 caps for the Portugal national team and scored five goals, from 1992 to 2002. He represented the nation at Euro 1996 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
