North Nazimabad Town (Urdu: شمالی ناظم آباد ) is a town in the northern part of Karachi, named as such in reference to it being north of the suburb of Nazimabad. Nazimabad was developed in the early 1950s to settle Muslim refugees in Pakistan. This suburb was named after Khawaja Nazimuddin who was the second Governor-General of Pakistan, and later the second Prime Minister of Pakistan as well.

The town is bordered by New Karachi Town to the north across the Shahrah-e-Zahid Hussain, Gulberg Town to the east across the Gujjar Nala stream, Liaquatabad Town to the south, and SITE Town to the west. The population of North Nazimabad Town was estimated to be about 500,000 at the 1998 census, of which 99% are Muslim. There are several ethnic groups including Muhajirs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras and Ismailis.

North Nazimabad Town has a comparatively high[weasel words] literacy rate amongst other towns in Karachi,[citation needed] and a relatively low crime rate. It is considered an upper middle class town of the city. In late 1950s, the northern extension of Nazimabad, the North Nazimabad, was developed as a residential area for federal government employees. But in the early 1960s the capital of Pakistan was transferred from Karachi to newly developed capital Islamabad. On account of these two factors it is ranked as the most-planned town of Karachi, with blocks located alphabetically. It was planned and designed in late 50s by Carlo Scarpa & Aldo Rossi the Italian planners & architects.
