A naval diver is lowered on a stage to the seabed from a rescue-and-salvage ship, near St. Kitts.

Naval diving is a branch of professional diving carried out by world navies.

Naval divers' activities include these:-

• boat and ship inspection, cleaning and maintenance
• demolition of ship wreck and unexploded ordnance
• ship and submarine salvage
• underwater mine clearance
• investigating unidentified submerged divers
