This article is about the major fictional characters in the video games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest.
[edit] Biggoron
Biggoron (ダイゴロン Daigoron) is a giant Goron living atop Death Mountain who will forge the Biggoron's Sword for Link if Link brings him special eye drops. The Biggoron's Sword is stronger and larger than Link's other swords, but it must be held with both hands, so Link cannot hold his shield while the sword is in use. Biggoron has a smaller brother called Medigoron.

Bonooru (ボヌール Bonūru) is a stationary scarecrow who is friends with Pierre the scarecrow. When Link shows Bonooru his Ocarina, Bonooru asks for Link to play him a tune to see if he can memorize it. The song Link plays becomes the Scarecrow's Song, and is used later in the game to summon Pierre.
[edit] Boss Carpenter
The Boss Carpenter (大工の親方 Daiku no Oyakata) is a large, bald carpenter from Kakariko Village. After his workers leave him and get themselves kidnapped by the Gerudo, Link can find him outside the carpenters' tent in Gerudo Valley.
[edit] Boss's Son
The Boss's Son (親方の息子 Oyakata no Musuko) is a bum living in Kakariko Village. He has a blue Cucco named Cojiro (コジロー Kojirō) that his sister keeps for him. He eventually leaves Kakariko Village to go sit in the Lost Woods, despite the fact that Hylians become Stalfos if they get lost in the Lost Woods. Just before becoming a Stalfos, he sends Link to get him some medicine from his mom, the Potion Shop Granny, but by the time he returns, the boss's son has already turned into a Stalfos.
[edit] Carpenters
Ichiro (イチロー Ichirō), Jiro (ジロー Jirō), Sabooro (サブロー Saburō) and Shiro (シロー Shirō) are four carpenters who work for the Boss Carpenter. During Link's childhood, the carpenters work on construction in Kakariko Village on the orders of Impa, who hopes the village will someday be a "true city". During Ganondorf's reign of Hyrule, the carpenters depart from Kakariko Village to Gerudo Valley after completing one building, leaving the Boss Carpenter in Kakariko Village. Having set up a tent in Gerudo Valley, the carpenters attempt to join the Gerudo thieves. The thieves reject the carpenters and hold them prisoner in separate cells throughout their fortress. After Link rescues them all, they repair the bridge crossing Gerudo Valley, which was destroyed by the Gerudo to ward off intruders.
[edit] Chicken Lady
The Chicken Lady (ニワトリねえさん Niwatori Neesan) is the daughter of the carpenters' boss. Although she loves Cucco (コッコ Kokko) and owns several, she is allergic to them. When they flee from their pen, she asks Link to help her catch all her Cuccos and put them back. After doing so, she rewards link with a glass bottle. Later, if Link proves he's good at making Cuccos happy, she'll give him Cojiro, her brother's rare, blue Cucco, who has been depressed lately.

Dampé the Gravekeeper (墓守ダンペイ Hakamori Danpei) is a hunchback and the gravekeeper of Kakariko Village. He digs in Kakariko Graveyard if paid, giving the payer anything he finds. During Ganondorf's reign of Hyrule, Dampé dies and is buried in a labyrinthine tomb in the graveyard; he rewards Link with the Hookshot after Link chases Dampé's spirit through the maze.

Darunia (ダルニア) is the leader of the Goron race and resides in Goron City on Death Mountain. When Link first meets Darunia, he is upset because the cavern containing the Goron's food source is overrun by Dodongos and has been sealed off by Ganondorf as punishment for refusing to turn over the Goron Ruby (also known as the Spiritual Stone of Fire). Once he is cheered up by Link playing "Saria's Song", his demeanor softens. He gives Link the Goron's Bracelet, allowing him to pluck and use bomb flowers, and asks him to clear the Dodongos from Dodongo's Cavern, promising to bestow upon him the Goron Ruby as a reward. After Link completes the task, Darunia rewards Link with the Goron Ruby and makes him his "Sworn Brother". In the following seven years, Darunia has a son named after Link. After Ganondorf conquers Hyrule, he intends to feed the Goron race to the ancient dragon Volvagia, who was sealed away long ago by a Goron hero, but has been revived by Ganondorf, as a warning to other races who would defy him. Link hears of this and meets Darunia in the Fire Temple, at which point Darunia charges Link to free the Gorons held captive while Darunia attempts and fails to kill Volvagia. After Link frees the Gorons and defeats Volvagia, Darunia awakens as the Sage of Fire and gives Link the Fire Medallion. Darunia shares his name with a town in The Adventure of Link.

Epona (エポナ) is Link's horse. She was brought up by Malon and Talon on Lon Lon Ranch and can be summoned by "Epona's Song". Link first meets her when he is a child and she a foal, but she is wild and runs away from him until Malon teaches Link Epona's Song. When Link returns to the ranch as an adult, it has been taken over by Ingo, and Epona once again runs away from him. Link, after taming Epona using Epona's Song, participates in two races with Ingo, and wins Epona. From that point on, he can summon the horse in most locations using the song and she provides him with fast transportation around Hyrule.

Fado (ファド) is a blonde Kokiri girl who, during the child section of the game, stands at the end of the bridges leading from Saria's house, and in the adult section of the game, appears as part of the Biggoron's Sword quest. She replaces the boss carpenter's son in the Lost Woods after a certain quest is complete. She demands Link give her the mushroom-based medicine meant for the man, and in return, she gives Link a saw that the man left behind. Like Mido, her name is made up of solfège syllables. Although not named in the game, Fado was given her name by the game's programmers.[1]

Ganondorf the Great King of Evil (大魔王ガノンドロフ Daimaō Ganondorofu) (voiced by Takashi Nagasako) is the principle antagonist of The Legend of Zelda series, and he makes his first chronological appearance in Ocarina of Time. He seeks to claim the mythical Triforce, and use its powers to conquer the land of Hyrule.
[edit] Goron Kid
The Goron Kid (ゴロンキッド Goron Kiddo) is the son of Darunia. After Link defeats King Dodongo, restoring Goron access to Dodongo's Cavern, which is the Gorons' primary source of food, he becomes the hero of the Gorons. In honor of Link, Darunia, the leader of the Gorons, names his son after him; the actual name, however, varies depending on the name the player chooses for the main protagonist (i.e. Link) prior to beginning the game.
Link meets "Link of the Goron" (as he refers to himself) after his seven-year slumber. Apart from the Goron Kid, there are hardly any Gorons left in Goron City, the only other two being Medigoron and the shopkeeper. The Goron Kid at first thinks Link is one of Ganondorf's minions but soon realizes that Link is the hero and "Dodongo Buster" he heard about. He tells Link about what is going on with Volvagia, Darunia, and the missing Gorons. The Goron Kid then begs Link to save them, despite Darunia having told him not to let anybody follow him to the Fire Temple. He gives Link the Goron Tunic and tells him where to find the secret passage that leads to the Fire Temple.
[edit] Great Deku Sprout
The Great Deku Sprout (デクの樹のこども Deku no Ki no Kodomo) is the rebirth of the late Great Deku Tree. He sprouts up after Link defeats Phantom Ganon and Saria awakens as the Sage of Forest. He is the one who reveals Link's true identity as a Hylian, not a Kokiri, showing that he retains some of the memories of the dead Great Deku Tree. He tells Link further that his mother entrusted him to the Great Deku Tree to be raised as a Kokiri, and that she died shortly thereafter.
[edit] Great Deku Tree
The Great Deku Tree (デクの樹サマ Deku no Ki-sama) is a large tree with a human-like face, who watches over the Kokiri who live in Kokiri Forest in Ocarina of Time.
When Ocarina of Time begins, the Great Deku Tree is suffering from a curse cast upon him by Ganondorf in an effort to gain the Spiritual Stone of the Forest, which is in the Deku Tree's possession. Knowing Link's destiny, the Deku Tree sends Navi to summon the boy and asks him to destroy the curse, the source of which is a giant spider named Queen Gohma. Although Link defeats Gohma, the Deku Tree reveals he was doomed before Link had begun; before he dies, he gives Link the Kokiri Emerald and implores him to seek out the "Princess of Destiny" (Princess Zelda) at Hyrule Castle. As he leaves, Mido is hostile to Link, as he suspects that he is responsible for the Deku Tree's death. After adult Link completes the Forest Temple, however, he discovers a sprout near the Great Deku Tree, which grows into the Great Deku Sprout.
[edit] Great Fairies
The Great Fairies (大妖精 Dai Yōsei) are large, magical, female beings capable of enchanting powers, and each one grants Link various spells and abilities as he progresses through the game. They reside in underground fountains, and require "Zelda's Lullaby" to be played to appear, as proof of loyalty to the Royal Family. Six exist in Hyrule and are situated across the land, but their shrines are usually hidden somehow. Each of them also refill Link's life and magic meters during subsequent visits.
[edit] Happy Mask Salesman
The bizarre man known as the Happy Mask Salesman first appeared in Ocarina of Time, offering to let Link work for him as a Happy Mask Salesman. After selling four masks, the Salesman gives Link the Mask of Truth, allowing him to understand the Gossip Stones scattered about Hyrule.
[edit] Hylian Knights
The military recruits of Hyrule Castle. Besides keeping order in Hyrule, the knights' most important job is to protect the Royal Family. The knights in Ocarina of Time wield spears and wear helmets that covers their eyes. Dozens of guards patrol Hyrule Castle and its gardens, while three guard Kakariko Village.

Impa (インパ Inpa) is the only member of the Sheikah race seen in the game and the caretaker of Princess Zelda. She opened Kakariko Village, which was once a home to the Sheikah, to the public. Early in the game, she takes Zelda away from the castle to escape from Ganondorf. During the seven years in which Link is frozen by the power of the Master Sword, Impa teaches Zelda to disguise herself as Sheik, a Sheikah, to hide from Ganondorf. When Link is an adult, Impa enters the Shadow Temple to seal Bongo Bongo, a creature which escapes from the well in Kakariko Village. Sheik reveals Impa originally defeated Bongo Bongo. Following Link's defeat of Bongo Bongo, Impa awakens as the Sage of Shadow.
[edit] Ingo
Ingo (インゴー Ingō) is a tall, lanky man with a large black moustache who bears a striking resemblance to fellow Nintendo character Luigi. When Link first meets Ingo, he is working as a farmhand at Lon Lon Ranch. He is a hard worker but complains about how he must do all the work while Talon, the ranch's actual owner, just lies around and sleeps all day. When Link returns to Lon Lon Ranch seven years later as an adult, he finds that Ingo, with the assistance of Ganondorf, has taken over the ranch and kicked Talon out. Once Link wins Epona from Ingo and finds Talon in Kakariko Village, Talon returns to the ranch and takes back ownership. Ingo, apparently regretful of his actions, and fearful of being punished by Ganondorf for losing Epona to Link, returns to working as a farmhand. Malon observes that Ingo "must have been tempted by evil powers".
[edit] Jabu-Jabu
Jabu-Jabu (ジャブジャブ) is the patron deity of the Zora race and as such is worshipped by them. He is a giant fish who resides in Zora's Fountain. When seeing Jabu-Jabu, it is customary to bring a fish as an offering. Link encounters Jabu-Jabu as a child, when he is sent by King Zora to rescue Princess Ruto from inside his belly, as she was swallowed whole while carrying out her duties as his attendant. When Link defeats the monster Barinade inside Jabu-Jabu and frees Ruto, it is said that Jabu-Jabu was cursed by Ganondorf. Jabu-Jabu is not present when Link is an adult.
[edit] King Zora
King Zora XVI (キングゾーラ・ド・ボン１６世 Kingu Zōra de Bon Jūroku-sei) is the ruler of the Zora race. He is an obese, fish-like creature who values the loyalty of his people and demands respect for their patron deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu. When Link visits the cavernous interior of Zora's Domain, King Zora is always seated in his throne, protecting the entrance to Zora's Fountain. When the King of Hyrule ended "a fierce war" decades earlier and reunited the Kingdom of Hyrule, he reaffirmed his friendship and association with the Zoran patriarch.
Shortly after Link begins his quest, he meets King Zora, whose daughter, Princess Ruto, has gone missing. After Link shows him a message from Ruto stating that she has been swallowed by Lord Jabu-Jabu, King Zora asks Link to rescue her and grants him access to the sacred Zora's Fountain, where Lord Jabu-Jabu resides.
When Link returns to Zora's Domain as an adult, he finds King Zora frozen in a giant crystal of Red Ice. As a reward for thawing him out with Blue Fire, King Zora gives Link the Zora Tunic; if Link already owns a Zora Tunic, the Zora King offers a kiss. King Zora also partakes in the trading sequence side-quest for Biggoron's Sword after he is thawed.
[edit] Know-it-All Brothers
The Know-It-All Brothers are three Kokiri brothers who live on a hill next to the Forest Training Center in Kokiri Forest. They teach the player how to use the subscreens and C buttons.
[edit] Kaepora Gaebora
Kaepora Gaebora the Mysterious Bird (怪鳥ケポラ・ゲボラ Kai Tori Kepora Gebora) is a talking owl who assists Link. A Gossip Stone (found in the Sacred Forest Meadow) says that he is the reincarnation of an ancient Sage. In addition, in the Nintendo GameCube version of Ocarina of Time, another Gossip Stone in the same area tells Link that Kaepora Gaebora "may look big and heavy, but its character is rather lighthearted." Despite him being pretty much right behind Link throughout his childhood in the Ocarina of Time, he is not encountered by the adult Link but is shown to still be keeping an eye on him, as he can be glimpsed in the shadows of the Spirit Temple at the time Link learns the Requiem of Spirit, but other than that he makes no appearance until Link completes the child half of the Spirit Temple.
He claims (during his meeting with child Link in the Desert Colossus) to not have believed in the stories telling of a Hero of Time, making him the only person in the game to do so. An unnamed owl with Kaepora's appearance and personalty also appears in Majora's Mask, first in Woodfall Swamp to teach Link the Song of Soaring, and again in Snowhead to help Link cross a large abyss. There are statues to his likeness spread across Termina, mainly used to warp to with the Song of Soaring, but also as an alternative means to using the Song of Time to save the game. By saving this way, all of Link's items and Rupees are kept but he does not go back in time.
[edit] Kotake and Koume
Twinrova the Sorceress Sisters (双生魔導師ツインローバ Sōsei Madōshi Tsuinrōba), the twin witches Koume and Kotake, who later fuse to become Twinrova, are the bosses of the Spirit Temple. Twinrova consists of two witches, Kotake (コタケ) and Koume (コウメ Kōme), who use the elements of ice and flame, respectively. They are the surrogate mothers of Ganondorf.

Link (リンク Rinku) (voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama (adult Link) Fujiko Takimoto (child Link)), the Hero of Time, is the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He is a Hylian who was raised as a Kokiri in Kokiri Forest. Using the Master Sword, he can travel between his childhood and adulthood to change the course of time and ultimately defeat the main villain, Ganondorf. Like most other iterations of Link in the series, he is left-handed.

Malon (マロン Maron) is the daughter of Talon, and works at Lon Lon Ranch with her father and Ingo. As a child, Link first meets her on the path leading to Hyrule Castle where she is looking for her father. She gives Link an egg which hatches to wake up Talon.

Mido (ミド) is the self-proclaimed leader of the Kokiri race, and refers to himself as "The Great Mido". He dislikes Link and does not accept him as a Kokiri because Link does not have a guardian fairy. He does not see why Link has become the respected favorite of Saria and the Great Deku Tree. His name comes from the solfège syllables mi and do.[1]
When Link is summoned to see the Great Deku Tree, Mido is shocked by that and by the fact that Link now has a fairy companion, Navi. He stops Link from entering, and says he must have a sword and shield, and when Link returns with these items, Mido reluctantly lets him through. He later blames Link for the Great Deku Tree's death.
When Link returns seven years later as an adult, Mido does not recognize Link and refuses to let him go to the Forest Temple. After Link plays Saria's Song for him, however, he realizes that Link is one of Saria's friends and lets him pass. After Link completes the Forest Temple, awakening Saria as a Sage, Mido learns that Saria can never come home. He says she liked Link, and then asks Link whom he still does not recognize to keep a look out for the young Link whom he knew, and to tell him Mido has apologized.
[edit] Nabooru
Nabooru (ナボール Nabōru) is a high-ranking Gerudo, who is Ganondorf's second in command. Unlike her peers, she possesses her own free will and conscience. She expresses disdain towards Ganondorf, and is aware of his sinister motives. Nabooru ultimately chooses to leave Ganondorf, and pursue her own solo career by first finding the Silver Gauntlets in the Spirit Temple and disrupt Ganondorf's operations. She promises to reward Link if he helps her find the gauntlets.
Link manages to retrieve the gauntlets, but Koume and Kotake, Ganondorf's surrogate mothers, abduct Nabooru, and brainwash her. Link time travels seven years into the future, to unlock the Spirit Temple's other secrets (as Link cannot wear the Silver Gauntlets as a child). Seven years later, Link encounters and battles Nabooru, who now serves as one of Ganon's Iron Knuckles. He eventually progresses to defeat Koume and Kotake, prompting Nabooru to awaken as Sage of Spirit. She gives Link the Spirit Medallion, the power of which is later used to save Hyrule and defeat Ganondorf.

Navi (ナビィ Nabi) (voice actress: Kaori Mizuhashi) is a fairy who is Link's "sidekick" throughout the game. She is instructed by the Great Deku Tree in Kokiri Forest to assist Link in his quest to stop Ganondorf. All Kokiri have companion fairies, but because Link is actually a Hylian, he never received one until Navi joins him near the beginning of the events in Ocarina of Time.
In gameplay, Navi functions primarily as a guide that points out clues in the environment and helps the player learn the controls and advance in the game. Most of her hints are about how to progress in the story or defeat enemies. She can also be used to lock on enemies in the game, items and other characters. She is one of the few characters with any voice-acting in the series, and the only character who (aside from Link in The Wind Waker) actually uses English words, such as "Hey", "Look", "Listen", "Watch out" and "Hello".
[edit] Pierre
Pierre (ピエール Piēru) is a self-proclaimed wandering scarecrow. Early in Link's childhood, specifically before the Master Sword is raised from its pedestal, Pierre can be found rooted to the ground within a fenced tract overlooking Lake Hylia along with Bonooru. Confined to the ground due to his immobility, Pierre admits he wishes to wander freely throughout Hyrule to search for poignant tunes. A subsequent seven years reveals Pierre has fulfilled his wish to leave, although it is never explained how he accomplishes it. Adult Link can play the Scarecrow's Song on his ocarina to summon Pierre to come assist him.
[edit] Potion Shop Granny
The Potion Shop Granny (クスリ屋のオババ Kusuri-ya no Obaba) is the wife of the carpenters' boss.[2] She is also a witch who runs a Potion Shop in Kakariko Village. Her house is located in the back of the village, which is closed when Link is a child. When he is an adult, her shop is open and she sells the red, green, and blue potions. She also has a pet tiger cub. Her medicinal colleague is the Lakeside Laboratory scientist and aquaculturist.
[edit] Princess Zelda
Princess Zelda (ゼルダ姫 Zeruda-hime) (voiced by Jun Mizusawa) is the princess of Hyrule. She possesses magical powers that allow her to foresee Ganondorf's assault against Hyrule, and helps Link access the Master Sword in the Temple of Time by collecting the three Spiritual Stones as a child. As an adult, she disguises herself as Sheik (シーク Shīku) to again help Link.
[edit] Rauru
Rauru (ラウル) is an old Hylian man who is the Sage of Light and an architect of the Temple of Time. He is the last remaining Ancient Sage. Rauru shares his name with a town in The Adventure of Link. Rauru is introduced to the player when Link awakens from his seven-year slumber in the Chamber of the Sages deep within the Sacred Realm. Rauru explains to Link where he is, what has happened while he was asleep, and gives him the Light Medallion, a symbol of Rauru's power. In the manga, it is revealed that Rauru was only a spirit who lived on in the Chamber of the Sages. This trait seems to be shared with the other Sages.
[edit] Running Man
The Running Man is a man who runs around Hyrule Field when Link is a child. He stops to rest during the night, at which time Link can approach and speak to him. The Running Man says Hyrule Field was once teeming with wild rabbits, but not any longer due to "excessive hunting". When Link is an adult, he resides in a tent in Gerudo Valley. Link can race him to the entrance of the Kokiri Forest, but he always beats Link by one second.
[edit] Ruto
Ruto (ルト) is the daughter of King Zora and the princess of the Zora race. As a child, she has a bossy and spoiled attitude, and is somewhat of a tomboy like Princess Zelda. Link first meets her in the belly of Lord Jabu-Jabu, the Zora's sacred guardian for whom she dutifully cares, who had accidentally swallowed her and the Spiritual Stone of Water—the Zora's Sapphire—while being fed. The Zora's Sapphire is Ruto's most treasured possession, as it was once her mother's, and thus she demands that Link carry her around Lord Jabu-Jabu's innards and help her find it. Ruto's mother requested that she give it to the man who would be her husband, and so, after Link rescues her, she gives it to him and considers her and Link to be engaged.
After Ganondorf takes over Hyrule, Zora's Domain freezes over and traps the Zoras under the ice. Ruto is rescued by Sheik and immediately heads to the Water Temple to find the cause of this curse. When Link finds her in the temple, she scolds him for keeping her waiting seven years to marry him, saying, "I have not forgotten the vows we made to each other." When Link completes the Water Temple, Ruto is awakened as the Sage of Water, and gives Link the Water Medallion. Thereafter she states that while she would love nothing more than to offer her eternal love to him, they cannot be together, at least not until his quest is over.

Saria (サリア) is a green-haired Kokiri girl who befriends Link while he grows up in Kokiri Forest. She gives Link the Fairy Ocarina, Link's first instrument in Ocarina of Time, as a memento of their friendship as he leaves Kokiri Forest for Hyrule Castle. She later teaches him "Saria's Song", the magical powers of which enable Link to communicate with her from afar. When Link returns as an adult, he contacts Saria with the ocarina. She explains that the forest spirits called out to her from the Forest Temple. When she investigated, evil spirits and monsters imprisoned her. Link rescues her after defeating the four Poe Sisters and Phantom Ganon. Saria is awakened as the Forest Sage and gives Link the Forest Medallion.
Saria is one of three Kokiri to enter the Lost Woods (the other two being Mido and Fado). The Kokiri children admire Saria for her kindness and for being the only one of her people to thoroughly navigate the Lost Woods. The Kokiri did not know she was a Sage. Saria's favorite place in the forest is the Sacred Forest Meadow. When Link is an adult, he finds Mido in the Lost Woods, who comments that Saria had a secret love interest in Link.
[edit] Sharp and Flat
Sharp (シャープ Shāpu) and Flat (フラット Furatto) are two musician brothers who were once the Royal Family's personal composers. During the time of the war, Ganondorf was on a quest gaining all the knowledge he could about the location of the Triforce. He learns about the brothers believing they possessed the Song of Time. In actuality they had composed the Sun's Song. Upon meeting Ganondorf, the musical siblings learned he wished to gain access to the forbidden Sacred Realm. When they refused to acquiesce to the Gerudo stranger in black armor, Ganondorf sent them to their graves. In death, they appear as Poes in the Kakariko Graveyard. They attack people who read their tombstones. Should Link himself defeat them, their green, smiling souls apologize for their behavior and they engage Link in conversation. They explain their relationship with the Royal Family and that their melodic labors produced a song that affects time. When playing the Sun's Song, one can change daytime into night, and vice versa. The Royal Composer Brothers were Sharp the Elder and Flat the Younger.
[edit] Six Sages
The Six Sages are the guardians of the Sacred Realm and the crafters of the Master Sword. Over the years, the numbers of Sages dwindled until only Rauru, the Sage of Light, remained. Rauru and Sheik reveal to Link that new Sages must be awakened, however, because of Ganondorf's influence, the "awakening call" from the five temples around Hyrule is unable to be heard until Link purges the evil from the temples. The ones who inherit the new roles of Sages are Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Impa and Nabooru and Zelda becoming the seventh sage.
[edit] Skull Kid
The Skull Kid (スタルキッド Sutarukiddo/Stalkid) is woodland fairy-type creature living in the Lost Woods who belongs to a race of the same name. They are suggested by Navi to be what Kokiri become if they get lost in the woods and cannot get back out. However, Skull Kids are not the only possible example of creatures being transformed by the woods; according to Fado, Hylians gradually become Stalfos. The Skull Kid is involved in one of the several mask trades for The Happy Mask Salesman. He purchases the skull mask from Link to impress his friends. While Skull Kid is friendly to Link when he is a child, he becomes hostile when adult Link approaches him.

Talon (タロン Taron) is the father of Malon and the owner and operator of Lon Lon Ranch. When Link first encounters Talon, he is asleep beside a shipment of milk he had been delivering to Hyrule Castle. After Link awakens him, he returns to Lon Lon Ranch. At some point during the seven years Link spends suspended in the Sacred Realm, Ingo, the Lon Lon Ranch farmhand, takes over the ranch and kicks Talon out. Again, Link finds Talon asleep, this time in Kakariko Village. If Link participates in the Biggoron's Sword side-quest, he can awaken Talon with the crowing of the Pocket Cucco. When Talon discovers that Ingo has turned over a new leaf—after Link ruins his business—he does so as well. He has a counterpart in Majora's Mask, Mr. Barten, who serves milk at Clock Town's milk bar.

Volvagia the Subterranean Lava Dragon (灼熱穴居竜ヴァルバジア Shakunetsu Kekkyo Ryū Varubajia) is a giant lindworm that is feared for its taste for Gorons. Its first appearance is in The Adventure of Link, but the name was mistranslated as "Barba" in English releases. According to Darunia's son, "Link of the Gorons", Volvagia was destroyed by a great hero among the Gorons using the Megaton Hammer, and he and Darunia are descendants of the hero. Ganondorf revived Volvagia and planned to feed the Goron race to it as a warning to all other races in Hyrule not to oppose him. In Ocarina Of Time, Volvagia resides in a magma chamber deep inside the Fire Temple. After Link defeats the dragon, Darunia awakens as the Sage of Fire and gives Link the Fire Medallion.

The Windmill Man (風車小屋の男 Fūshagoya no Otoko) is an old man who resides inside the Kakariko Village windmill. He loves things that go around in circles. Also, he is the one who teaches Link the "Song of Storms".
