Film and entertainment companies founded after the fall Khmer Rouge include:

  • TVK(Khmer) (Cambodia's original broadcasting station) since 1966 was broadcast in black&white up until 1986.

  • Sovann Kiri (1972-1984), a now-defunct Khmer-Thai joint film company owned by movie stars Dy Saveth and Hui Keung. Ran in Cambodia between 1972-1975, and ran in Hong Kong between 1975-1984.
  • Pisnoka (1970-1975), owned by actor Vann Vannak, and all films of which he plays as the leading male role.

  • Rithy Panh (1988-present), a French-trained Cambodian producer.
  • Fey Som Ang (1989-present), a Cambodian film director.Also associated with Thai film productions.
  • Parn Puong Bopha (1989-present), a Cambodian film director.
  • Yvette Som (1990-present), producer of Angkorwat studio films.
  • Tim Pek (1975-present), Australian-Cambodia film director and producer.
  • Ieu Pannakar, film director since the 1950s and 60s.
  • Vann Vannak, film director/actor from the 1970s.
  • Dy Saveth, Film producer/actress from the 1970s. Also associated with Thai film productions.
  • Huy Kung, Chinese/Cambodian film director of the 1970s and 80s.
  • Tat Somnang, Cambodian, singer, producer, and film director of the 1970s
  • Tea Lum Kang, Chinese/Cambodian film director of the 1970s. Directed the all-time must see Cambodian film, Pos Keng Kang
  • Mao Somnang,Cambodian novelist and screenwriter of the 1980s and 90s.
  • Kong Buncheun, novelist/music composer/producer/director since the 1950s.
  • King Norodom Sihanouk, the former King himself directed over hundreds of Khmer films in the 1960s and 70s.
  • Channy Peakdey, film director since 1989. She directed the 1994 version of "Promatt Promong."
