List of English Football League managers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of English Football League managers. It includes every manager currently managing a club in the English Premier League and The Football League, in order of the date of their appointment. The Premier and Football Leagues are the only two fully-professional football leagues in England, and consist of 92 clubs in total. The Premier League consists of 20 clubs at the top of the English football league system. The remaining 72 clubs are split into three divisions: the Championship, League One, and League Two.
Some of these managers were appointed as caretaker managers prior to being given a permanent position; if so their caretaker appointment date is denoted in italics. Only one manager has spent more than 20 years in his current job, and only two have spent more than 10. The average length of a manager's tenure in English league football for the period 1992 to 2005 was 2.19 years.[1]
