Htantlang Township

Thantlang Township is a township in the Chin State of Myanmar. The name Thantlang is the name of the town. Previously it was known as Thlantlang which means mountain of cemetery. About fifteen years ago, there were many old cemeteries at the south side of the town now where the Burmese military build their camp and a Pagoda.In Thantlang township,different dialect speakers such as Lautu[1], Zophei, Senthang, Lai and Mara are also dwelling. It was lastly recorded that the population in this township is over 65000. The township is located at the border that divide India and Burma. Because of the ethnic rebels' present in the area, the people in Thantlang township facing different abuses of the Burmese military just as the whole other Chin State towns, like rapping girls and women, and even many of the little girls, and also killing many of their young boys and men to hide their guilty.
