List of ethnic groups in Taiwan

This is a list of Taiwanese aborigine ethnic groups. The Republic of China (Taiwan) officially recognizes 13 of these groups. Those that are officially recognized are marked with a "*" in the following list. The People's Republic of China officially classifies all of these groups into a single ethnic group, Gaoshan.

- Kavalan (噶瑪蘭)*

- Luilang (雷朗)
- Paiwan (排灣)*
- Pazeh/Kaxabu (Pazih) (巴宰 or 巴則海)
- Popora (巴布拉)
- Puyuma (卑南)*
- Qauqaut (猴猴)
- Rukai (魯凱)*
- Saisiyat (Saisiat) (賽夏)*
- Sakizaya (撒奇萊雅)*
- Siraya (西拉雅)
- Tao (Yami) (雅美/達悟)*
- Taokas (道卡斯)
- Thao (邵)*
- Trobiawan (多囉美 or 多囉美遠)
- Truku (Taroko) (太魯閣)*
- Tsou (Cou) (鄒)*
Other ethic groups include the Hoklo, Hakka, and mainlanders.
