This category is used for administration of the Wikipedia project, and is not part of the encyclopedia. It contains pages that are not articles, or groups articles by status rather than content.

This category allows administrators to quickly locate current requests for unblock from blocked users; these requests may come from users if they are suffering from collateral damage caused by an unrelated block, or from users who would like a block removed or reduced. Users can add themselves to this category by placing the {{unblock}} template on their user talk page, which they can usually edit while blocked.

Per the blocking policy and block appeals guidelines, unless exceptional or expedient circumstances apply, administrators should not unblock a user without prior discussion with the blocking admin, nor should they review an unblock request where they have a conflict of interest, whether by having set the original block or by participating in disputes relating to it.

In general, an unblock request should be removed and replaced with an appropriate response, when unblocking or reviewing a block.

Common response	Description
{{subst:2nd chance}}	Asks user to read content guidelines, demonstrate good faith by improving an article on their talk page.
{{subst:autoblocked}}	User is autoblocked (or otherwise blocked), and admins need more information to respond.
{{subst:Decline reason here}}	Default response included in {{unblock}} if none other is specified.
{{subst:rangeblocked}}	Sometimes useful for responding to users hit by a rangeblock.
{{subst:request accepted}}	User's unblock request has been granted by an administrator.
{{unblock on hold}}	Extended wait for comment from blocking admin, temporarily removes request from main unblock category (see Category:Unblock on hold).
