William "Bill" Monning is an American educator, lawyer and politician. Monning was elected to the California State Assembly from the 27th Assembly District in the 2008 Assembly election.
Prior to being elected, Monning served as a professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, teaching International Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. He is active in education, healthcare reform, civil rights, environmental work, international education, and human rights advocacy.
