Battle of Yangcheng

The Battle of Yangcheng was a battle between Zhou Yu (Renming) under Yuan Shao and Sun Jian under Yuan Shu together with Gongsun Yue in Yangcheng in the year 191 during the prelude to the Three Kingdoms period in China. Yuan Shao's forces first got an upper hand against Sun Jian's forces, but was beaten back by Sun Jian's counterattack.

After being hit by a stray arrow, Gongsun Yue died. Gongsun Zan held Yuan Shao responsible for his death, and declared war against Yuan Shao, leading to the Battle of Jieqiao.
