Bardoli is located at 21°07′N 73°07′E / 21.12°N 73.12°E / 21.12; 73.12.^[1] It has an average elevation of 22 metres (72 feet).

Bardoli, a Taluka of district Surat, lies on the bank of river mindhola. Bardoli is located at distance of 36 km from the city of Surat on NH 6.

A plan to develop a CC road from Surat to Bardoli for a smooth connectivity between the both Cities. The road will be a part of NH 6 under city limits.

The Satyagrah movement was started by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel All the details of the Satyagrah with photos are now conserved in the "Sardar Patel Museum".

As of 2001^[update] India census,^[2] Bardoli had a population of 51,963. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Bardoli has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 54% of the males and 46% of females literate. 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Bardoli, long ago nothing but a very small village, is populated due to the establishment of "Bardoli Sugar Factory". It is presently, the largest sugar factory in Asia. It also has largest number of used car dealerships in Gujarat. This is because the Bardoli region is home to a large number of Non-Resident Indians, who visit Bardoli once a year in December. buy a car and later on sell it when they leave.

In Bardoli Taluka, There are many temples mandir which fall in and around the town limits which are worth visiting like "Galteshwar"-Temple of the God Shiva, "Vighneshwar" -Temple of God Shiva, "Kedareshwar" - Temple of God Shiva, Jalaram Mandir, Ramji Mandir, Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir, Swaminarayan Mandir etc.
